AMBAR WAY, MENLO PARK

This large Craftsman-inspired house for a family of five, had play space as a priority. The rear yard includes a large lawn, play structure and “bike” path running all around; also a vegetable garden (for the kids to experiment in). A barbecue area is located on the deck off the house, close to the kitchen. The front columns and curved brick walk offer a gracious entry, and the fencing and side arbors were inspired by the style of the architecture. The planting, in general, reflects the requested low-maintenance approach with plants that offer color (both in leaf and flower) throughout the year.
